Who are we?
This site is dedicated to Tyler Blaine Genneken and the children like him that have or are undergoing treatment for cancer.The Tyler Genneken Foundation was established to continue the legacy a 14 year old young boy started. When facing his own mortality Tyler thought of others, and asked friends and family to help him by adding 500 names to the National Bone Marrow Registry ("Be the Match"). Within 3 months more then 2,000 people joined "Be the Match" in Tyler's name. Shortly before he died, Tyler was told how successful the drives held in his honor were. Always humble and unassuming, Tyler simply whispered, "Cool, I hope even more join." The primary goals of the TGF are to have 10,000 names added to the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry and to raise awareness about pediatric cancer - particularly leukemia. About Tyler
Tyler was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on July 4th 2006, and after a 40 month battle with the cancer he died in the arms of his parents at the tender age of 14.Tyler dedicated his time here on earth to helping others, and through his actions he motivated people of all ages and walks of life to help kids like him. By the time of his death on November 4th of 2009, Tyler's story and his request that others help him fight cancer resulted in hundreds of units of blood being donated and more then 2,000 people joining Be The Match - the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry.

The Tyler Genneken Foundation's Play it Forward Football Turnament occurs each year in mid-November. This competitive tournament features teams in 6th through 8th grades (ages 11 - 14) and occurs over a single weekend. All of the funds raised by this tournament go towards supporting the causes near to TGF - Be The Match, Riley Hospitpal for Children, and cancer research. Page 8 100% of the profits from the sale of TGF merchandise goes to support Bone Marrow Donor Registration, Cancer Research, and to support local events, charities, and individuals which raise money to fight the terrible disease. More options will be available soon - Tyler had a great sense of humor and designed a number of very sarcastic, funny, but now ultimately poignant shirts and sayings about cancer and what kids and adults fighting cancer must endure. Tyler used his sense of humor to battle through the tough days, and now we are using that legacy to continue the fight. The "RIP TBG" shirt design was made to honor Tyler on his 15th birthday, and the "Tyler 12 Fish" car sticker has been worn by football teams, on cars, in lockers, on notebooks, and anywhere else one could be stuck - they represent Tyler's jersey number and his two passions in life: Faith and Football. The "Swing Poem" was written by Tyler's dad the night he died about a swing he hung for Tyler in their backyard. A touching peom, it is much more about the love between father and son then about a boy's favorite swing.
